At our last meeting we discussed:
The submitted material we have, and the limited range of issues we have to work with.
The need to stitch together factual personal stories with more imaginative scenarios to add humor, conflict, and some positive energy to the woes that beset our town.
The utility of holding a writers brainstorm meeting in conjunction with willing improv actors (or would be actors) to flesh out some ideas and generate notes for writers to work with.
Continuing outreach and development to further the goal of realizing an entertaining upbeat performance that includes social relevance and recognition of the reality of life in our community
We had a lively discussion and will carry that into our next meeting:
The Redwood Playhouse presents:
A Random People Theatre Project Writers/improv Workshop. Saturday October 1st 3-6pm at the Redwood Playhouse 286 Sprowel creek road, in Garberville
Writers, actors, interested community members experienced or not, are encouraged to come and help with the development of our next show.
At this brainstorm meeting, we will talk about ideas, review contributed material, and enact scenarios with improv actors (or would be actors) to discover dialog and action, to stitch together collected material with imaginative scenarios, and generate notes for writers to work with to create the final script. It is not to late to contribute your ideas or collected material. This is a new process for us and promises to be a fun and engaging way to build our performance company for the next show from the ground up. At this point you need not be committed to our calendar to participate, but don’t miss the opportunity to come play with us! And spread the word! If you plan on attending please send an RSVP to: producers@randompeopletheatre.org
